Le giornate di fotografia in Barbagia

17-21 settembre 2021

The Photo Solstice, the Fondazione Sardegna project dedicated to photography curated by Marco Delogu, inaugurated in 2018 in the Asinara National Park, is back in the heart of Barbagia.

From 17 to 21 September 2021, in Gavoi (Barbagia, Sardinia), fifteen participants selected through open calls will settle in widespread accommodation and study spaces to dialogue on the fundamental themes of photography.

Also this year The Photo Solstice will involve special guests who will interact with the participants in a busy schedule of lectures, talks and workshops.

The third edition of The Photo Solstice, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Gavoi, will include two external stops in Orani and Nuoro, with special evening events open to the public curated together with the Nivola Museum and the MAN Museum.

This edition, in addition to a shift in dates from those of the summer solstice to those of the autumn equinox and the change of setting, will be characterized by a growing link with the host territory and a greater focus on photographic production activities in which the participants will be involved.

The heart of this year’s edition will in fact be the three workshops in which the participants will be divided, led by Tim Davis, Marco Delogu and Pino Musi. From t the reinterpretation of the tradition of the agro-pastoral world characteristic of the Barbagia area, up to Ottana, from its industrial illusion to desertification. Although divided into distinct groups, the organizational structure of the workshops will provide ample opportunity for discussion both with the other participants and with the managers, who will thus have the opportunity to offer new ideas and contaminations.
